A FEW YEARS AGO

We saw a critical gap in healthcare.

Patients were being discharged from hospitals, confused and overwhelmed. New mothers were sent home with babies and barely any guidance. Families were coordinating multiple specialists with no one connecting the dots. People were leaving doctor's appointments with more questions than answers—and no one to call for help.

The healthcare system was moving too fast, providers were stretched too thin, and families were falling through the cracks. We knew there had to be a better way.

We wanted to create healthcare support that actually worked for families. Not the kind where you wait three weeks for a 15-minute appointment—but the kind where you have an expert nurse in your corner when you need guidance. The kind where nothing falls through the cracks, and you feel confident in every health decision. The kind where you're not just a patient number, but a whole person with a family who matters.

But at the time? That didn't exist.

So we built it ourselves.

We started identifying the real needs families have that traditional healthcare wasn't meeting.

We knew the system needed a bridge—nurses who could translate medical complexity, coordinate care across providers, and advocate for patients the way healthcare should work. We knew families deserved better than rushed appointments and confusing discharge instructions.

That's how Via Nurses was born.

We are launching our first virtual nursing service—comprehensive postpartum and infant support for families leaving the hospital. Families finally have someone who will listen, explain, coordinate, and care.

THE FOUNDER AND CEO

Via Nurses was born from my own experience as both a registered nurse and a patient navigating a fragmented healthcare system. After six years in pediatric clinical care, five years of supporting women through birth and recovery, and three cesarean births of my own, I witnessed firsthand how families are discharged confused, overwhelmed, and without the support they need.

I left nursing due to burnout, spent years processing what I'd experienced, and found my way back—but on my own terms. I founded Via Nurses to provide what I wished existed during my own health journey: expert nursing support that doesn't end at hospital discharge.

With my background in pediatric nursing, women’s health kinesiology, and a Master's in Public Health focused on policy and strategic planning, I understand both the clinical side of healthcare and the systemic barriers that make it difficult to navigate. I combine that expertise with real-life experience as a mom and someone who's been on both sides of the system.

My approach is direct, honest, and deeply compassionate. I translate medical complexity into clarity, advocate fiercely for your needs, and ensure nothing falls through the cracks—because healthcare should empower, not overwhelm.

FOUNDER & LEAD RN CONSULTANT

Calz brings 9+ years of pediatric clinical nursing experience with specialized focus on maternal health, postpartum support, and adolescent wellness. She provides expert guidance in pediatric care, women's health, and adolescent girls' health—with particular expertise in C-section prep & recovery, healthcare navigation, and Black maternal & child health advocacy. From newborn care to adolescent health education to postpartum recovery, Calz ensures families receive comprehensive, coordinated support at every stage of the journey.
Mitsuzi Green, BSN, RN, MSN

LABOR & DELIVERY RN CONSULTANT

Mitsuzi is a labor and delivery nurse & doula with 10+ years of experience supporting families through birth and postpartum recovery. Specializing in VBAC support, high-risk pregnancy, and immediate postpartum care, she provides expert guidance for new and expecting mothers navigating hospital discharge, newborn care, and the fourth trimester. Her compassionate, evidence-based approach ensures families feel prepared, supported, and confident during one of life's most transformative experiences.
